A Journey That Started in 2015
Every brand has a beginning. For Shobhan Foods, ours began in 2015 in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, with a small local shop and a simple product: banana chips.
The person behind that beginning was Mohit Patil, who was still a school-going student at the time. Coming from a lower-middle-class family with four siblings, Mohit wanted to contribute financially to his family. With limited resources but a willingness to work, he started selling banana chips locally.
At the time, the banana chips were sold without a brand name. There was no large manufacturing setup, elaborate packaging or online store. It was simply a small local business built around a product that customers enjoyed.
Over time, what started as a small initiative gradually became a family effort. Mohit's mother and siblings joined in and helped with the business, allowing it to grow beyond its initial beginnings.
Today, that journey has reached another important milestone: Shobhan Foods is now online.
From Local Banana Chips to Shobhan Foods
The name Shobhan was adopted as the business grew, representing auspiciousness and the values we wanted the brand to stand for.
For us, those values are simple: good-quality ingredients, careful preparation, hygiene and consistency.
Our connection with Jalgaon is also an important part of who we are. Jalgaon and the wider Khandesh region are well known for banana cultivation. We source quality bananas from Jalgaon and manufacture our banana chips in our dedicated facility in the region.
Around 2022, we established our dedicated manufacturing unit in Jalgaon. What began with a small local operation had evolved into a structured manufacturing setup capable of producing more than 500 kg of banana chips per day.
The journey has remained rooted in the same principle with which it started: make a product we are proud to serve to our customers.
Introducing Shobhan Banana Chips
Our first product is Shobhan Masala Banana Chips, made using carefully selected raw bananas, coconut oil and a blend of traditional spices.

One of the key differences in our preparation is the oil we use. Shobhan Banana Chips are made without palm oil and are fried in coconut oil.
We also do not use preservatives or artificial flavours.
Our goal is to offer a convenient snack that combines the familiar crunch of banana chips with carefully selected ingredients and a distinctive masala flavour.
A Focus on Taste, Quality and Consistency
Getting consistently crispy banana chips isn't dependent on just one step of the process.
At Shobhan Foods, we pay attention to the process from the selection of bananas to the final frying and seasoning. We work with consistent suppliers and select bananas based on quality and size. Damaged or unsuitable bananas are rejected before processing.
During frying, important parameters such as oil temperature, frying time, batch quantity, banana quantity and oil quantity are monitored. We also follow an oil filtering and replacement schedule to maintain consistency.
This attention to detail helps us maintain the crisp texture and flavour that we want customers to experience in every pack.
Hygiene Is Part of the Process
For a food brand, hygiene cannot simply be a statement on a packet. It has to be part of the manufacturing process.
Our Jalgaon manufacturing facility follows dedicated hygiene practices. The plant is kept off for a dedicated cleaning day every week, allowing required cleaning and maintenance activities to be carried out.
Our food-handling practices include requirements such as clean aprons or uniforms, hairnets or caps, handwashing before handling food and maintaining clean, short nails. Workers are also required to avoid watches, rings and loose jewellery while handling food.
Cuts and wounds must be properly covered, and employees are not permitted to handle food when suffering from an illness that could contaminate food.
These practices are part of our effort to maintain a clean and consistent manufacturing environment.
A Snack Made With Carefully Selected Ingredients
We believe customers should know what goes into the food they buy.
Shobhan Banana Chips are made without palm oil, preservatives or artificial flavours. They are prepared using Jalgaon-sourced bananas and coconut oil, along with our masala seasoning.
Our banana chips also provide dietary fibre. Based on the product's nutrition information, Shobhan Banana Chips contain approximately 6.03 g of dietary fibre per 100 g, which means a 200 g pack provides approximately 12 g of dietary fibre.
The product is also vegetarian and is manufactured under our registered FSSAI licence.

It represents our connection to the place where the journey began.
The bananas used for our chips are sourced from Jalgaon, and our dedicated manufacturing facility is also based in Jalgaon. From a small local banana-chip business started in 2015 to a growing food brand serving customers beyond Maharashtra, Jalgaon remains at the heart of Shobhan Foods.
It is our way of bringing the taste we have been serving locally to more homes across India.

Since 2015, Shobhan Foods has served more than 80,000 customers, with the majority of our business coming from the offline market, particularly across Maharashtra.
Many of these customers have discovered our banana chips through local sales and word of mouth.
For us, this history matters because Shobhan Foods was not created overnight for an online launch. The online presence is the next chapter of a journey that has already been going on for more than a decade.
Now Available Online Across India
Until now, Shobhan Foods has primarily grown through the offline market.
We are now taking the next step.
With the launch of our online presence, customers can discover Shobhan Foods and order our banana chips from anywhere in India.
Our products are now available through our official online store, along with Amazon. Customers can also connect with us through Instagram and WhatsApp.
We currently offer PAN-India delivery, with delivery generally taking around six days depending on the location. Orders above ₹400 are eligible for free shipping through our online store.
This online launch means that customers who have known us locally, and people discovering Shobhan Foods for the first time, can now have our banana chips delivered directly to their doorstep.

Launching our website is not simply about creating an online store.
It is about taking a business that began with a school-going student selling banana chips in Jalgaon in 2015 and making it accessible to customers across India.
